2. The name “Keperra” is believed to have originated from the Turrbal word “kippa-ring,” meaning “place of the young man.” This reflects the significance of the area to the local Indigenous community and their connection to the land.

3. In the early days, Keperra was primarily used for farming and timber cutting. However, with the development of the railway in the late 19th century, the area experienced rapid growth and became a popular residential suburb. Today, Keperra is known for its leafy streets, community spirit, and proximity to natural attractions such as the nearby Keperra Golf Course and the South Pine River.
